Everything we offer — or better said, everything available for doing nothing — happens a few steps from your door.
Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. A short menu that shifts with what arrives from the market and the garden. Huevos motuleños in the morning, fresh fish at noon, something with chocolate at the end. Open to the public — a reservation is recommended.
It's where most mornings end up starting. Swings over the water, a couple of benches, shade by mid-afternoon. The water is clear and shifts color with the hour. You can step in from the dock — or walk the shore until it goes shallow.
Rentals at the dock. You can cross the lagoon in an hour if you paddle without hurrying, less if you go straight. The best time is early — the wind arrives after noon and turns the way back into more work than you planned on.
The property has its own trails — short, but generous. Outside, dirt roads connect to the lagoon and to less-traveled corners of Bacalar. Ask the concierge for the hand-drawn map.
Enjoy the less-trodden part of the property. An hour and a half, maybe. Little talking — the point is to see birds, not to cover distance.
Sixty- or ninety-minute massages. Scented oil, light or firm pressure, booked in advance. The palapa sits far enough from the rooms that the hotel goes quiet.
Above the main building. It's the best spot for a mezcal at sunset — the water shifts color three times in half an hour. Open until ten.
We don't keep an excursions list. Tell us what interests you — Maya ruins, a quiet cenote, an afternoon at a chocolate cooperative — and we'll recommend you with local people we trust.
